  i'm just wondering... how many people in the hall hearing this watchtower today would be having sexual fantasies?

  having left the witnesses i hope i won't get " fooled again".

  yet life outside the organisation seems one big advertistiment telling me how useless i am.

  these advertisements tell me i am physically ugly, which can only be corrected by buying the advertisers " answer to my prayers" product.

  Died Due To Refusing Blood Transfusion

  well, last monday my mother, a jehovah's witness since her baptism in 1968 died last week because she would not accept a blood transfusion.

  she was 76 and had lung and skin cancer.

  i know that the cancer would have gotten her anyway, but she was bleeding internally, and was told that she needs a blood transfusion, as her blood count went all the way down to 3.2 (should be 12-14.

  lost my 18 year old daughter May '98 been told by many you never get over such a loss well its not a matter of getting over but accepting my loss so the memory is no longer painfull how by going through the grieving process I shed a lot of tears and jodie was worth every one of them Hope my experience is helpful lOTS of Love Robert

  once upon a time i started a thread who is your favorite thinker and got many responses.

  however revisiting that thread i noted we were to modest to name ourselves or fellow posters.

  i therefore think we are either complete idiots, or modesty aside we should now name names, and restrict our answers to posters on the board.. so who on this board is your favorite thinker and why?.

  Millennial hopes?

  it's been a long time since i was in, so please school me on this subject.

  if, in wt teaching, jesus took over his "kingdom" in 1914, doesn't that mean that in wt world view, that the millennium is more than 100 years gone already?

  if the last 102 years is a foretaste of his power, then eternity is looking more interesting than i anticipated..

  i heard today about a former jw/now apostate who is dying in hospital.

  this information was accompanied by the comment of "wouldn't be awful to be lying there in hospital,dying as an apostate!

  hypothetical imagine the response you would get if you held a gun to an arrogant Elders head and said consider this a test of your fatth in the ressurrection hope cause I am going to blow your brains out 1oo to one I would bet he would be begging to stay alive despite your reassurences that you are doing him a favour after I was DF one Elder told my 10 year old son he no longer had a father what disturbed me was he actually believed that hts judgement was binding on God

  Differences Between Ex-JWs

  we are not all the same--a real "duh, david!

  so i figured if i didn't feel that sense of solidarity that seems missing among the debating, then i was part of the problem.

  i'm responsible for making this place feel like a support and place of solidarity, just as much as anyone else.. but approaches i tried didn't work until i shut up for a while.

  someone mentioned the deep things we learned in the 60's that brought a smile to my face deep not crazy like the locusts with human faces being WT literature and the way language was used to hijack critical thinking ie cross cant be true cause it is pagan why did I buy into that one whern't the Romans pagans does one think they would object to using a cross so it had to be an upright stake
